Dale Mackenzie Gross
It is with great sadness that we let you know of the passing of Dale Mackenzie Gross.
He was the founding president of our Scottish Cultural Society of St. Petersburg and remained
so until his retirement 3+ years ago.
He was the founder, along with his wife Sara Jean Buie Gross, of Caberfeidh Productions.
Dale was also an Officer and Director of SPIFFS, (St. Petersburg International Folk Fair) for many years.
Our hearts and condolences go out to all of Dale's family and friends.
SPIFFS FAIR MEMORIAL for DALE
Saturday, Oct 26th, 2019 4:00 pm
Following the Parade of Nations & the New Citizen Swearing-in Ceremony, a memorial was held for Dale during the SPIFFS FAIR. Attendees met at the waters edge by the Scottish Village.
To Quote Kevin Cardwell of
"When Dale took sick, it left a big hole in our Celtic music scene in Tampa Bay. Dale and Sara Jean seldom made money on these shows; they treated the musicians like royalty.
Dale told me he did it for the love of the music and sharing the music with the audience.
I would say may he rest in peace, but I would rather say
may he rest in a non-stop Ceilidh !"
Yours in Celtic Harmony,
Scottish Cultural Society of St. Petersburg, Inc.
